Jinguashi was once a renowned gold mine in Taiwan. In the past, mining companies developed various forms of transportation todeliver the extracted gold and copper ores from the tunnels to the processing plants for refining. One such method was the use of ore cart railways. Today’s ore cart ride for approximately 280 meters, uses carriages modeled after the original mine carts.

Description

At its peak period, the mine was home to nearly 20,000 residents. On both sides of this ore cart railway, there were once many wooden Japanese-style employee dormitories of the mining company.
With such a large population in the mine, access to clean water became a crucial issue. Surrounding the ore cart railway were several large water storage tanks—some with capacities of 1,000 tons and others, 500 tons. Although many of these facilities have since been abandoned, a few have been restored and repurposed. For example, the Gold Building, which now displays the giant gold bricks, was once the office of the mining area.

Instruction

1.After completing your ticket purchase, you will receive an experience pass (QR Code).
Please arrive at the preparation room of Benshan Fifth Tunnel Entrance 10 minutes before your scheduled session starts and present your QR Code for admission.

2.Capacity: Each session accommodates 12 participants—8 available for reservation and 4 reserved for on-site purchase, while supplies last. Each cart holds up to 3 passengers.

3.Ticketing Period: Please reserve 7 to 45 days in advance. Ticket sales last till thesession is fully booked. Rides may be suspended in case of rain, depending on actual conditions. Every Monday is the maintenance day (postponed to Tuesday if Monday falls on a national holiday), and rides will not be available.

4.Museum Closed Days:
(1)The first Monday of each month (If it falls on a national holiday, the museum remains open and will close the following day)
(2)Lunar New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
(3)Government-announceded work closure days due to natural disasters.
(4)Other necessary closure dates will be announced separately.

5.Online tickets are issued as QR Code experience passes only as the experience pass and cannot be exchanged for physical ticketson-site.

6.In case of force majeure (including but not limited to typhoons, earthquakes, heavy rainfall, or other natural disasters), the museum will prioritize visitor safety and reserve the right to adjust, postpone, or cancel hours of operation and related activities. Relevant announcements will be made accordingly. The museum also reserves the right to modify, alter, or terminate activity content .

7.Use of this ticket constitutes an agreement to comply with the museum’s visitor regulations.

Precaution

1.Due to occasional bumps along the route, pregnant individuals, children under the age of 3, and pets are not permitted to ride.

2.For children's safety, those under 8 years old or under 120 cm in height must be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure that children do not stand or engage in horseplay while the cart is in motion. Each cart may carry a maximum of two young children.

3.Please follow the staff’s instructions to board and be seated in the mine cart in order, and do not release the safety bar once it is secured.

4.Do not disembark during the ride. Please keep an eye on your personal belongings to prevent them from falling due to the cart’s movement.

5.Eating, standing, jumping, horseplaying, or deliberately shaking the cart is strictly prohibited for safety reasons.

Refund Policy

1.Tickets that are lost, damaged, or rendered unrecognizable will not be reissued, exchanged, or refunded.

2.No refunds will be accepted once the experience pass has been used.

3.The system does not support order modifications. To change the number of participants,you must cancel the original order and place a new one.

4.E-tickets purchased through this website must be used within the validity period specified for each ticket.

5.Toget a refund, please submit your request via the “Member Center” by 11:59 PM one day prior to the scheduled activity. Refunds cannot be requested on the day of the scheduled activity. Expired experience passes are not eligible for refund.

6.If you made a purchase without logging in, please go to “Guest Orders” → “My Orders” → Click the order you wish to refund → Click “Request Refund” to complete the refund application. Expired experience passes will not be accepted for refund.
